Who we are
We are Jacquie & TJ Reeds, a couple of glamping fans and outdoor enthusiasts.
We’ve been camping and glamping together since we were in our early twenties. TJ has never been a fan of sleeping on the ground, and Jacquie tires of the fuss of all the packing that goes into camping for a weekend. We find glamping to be the perfect solution - lots of nature, less prep.
In April of 2025 we relocated our family to a 26-acre parcel of land in Westport, ON. We got to work right away, planning, prepping and building. Now we are pleased to announce that Star Haven Glamping is officially open for business as of September 2025!
Our first dome is an 8-metre geodesic glamping dome that features solar power, an in-unit 2-piece bathroom with a luxury composting toilet, running water for washing, a water dispenser for drinking, a woodstove and heat pump for your climate control needs, a comfy queen-sized bed with top-of-the-line linens, a seating area, kitchenette, bbq with side burner, firepit with a cooking grate, and a wood-fired stock-tank hot tub. The only thing that could make it all better is an outdoor shower! Oh, wait - that’s coming soon too!!
Eco-Consciousness and Sustainability
When it came time to plan the details of our first dome, we knew that we wanted wanted to centre eco-consciousness and sustainability. Responsible land stewardship was important to us and we hoped that if we led by example we would inspire our visitors to make adjustments in their everyday life.
All electricity, heat and cooling is powered by wood-fired and solar energy. A compost toilet is used in the dome to reduce water waste.
Most of the contents are sourced secondhand, including all furniture, light fixtures, cabinetry and countertops, sinks, appliances and decor. When items were purchased new, every effort was made to purchase eco-friendly and sustainably sourced products.
